Prashant Nanda directed Odia film Jianta Bhoota bags National award on environment conservation/preservation at the 56th National Film Awards announced at New Delhi on Saturday. Jianta Bhoota (The Living Ghost) depicts the plight of the Dongaria Kondh tribals of Koraput region to save the Niyamgiri hills from being taken over for mining activities. Mumbai-based internationally acclaimed Odia cinematographer A. K. Bir has been its director of photography and the movie has been produced by Akhaya Kumar Parija. The awards will be conferred by the President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil, in March 2010. The film is produced by Muscat-based non-resident Indian A.K.Parija. Mr.Parija’s banner Mitra Creative Arts has made its debut with this film.
